Financial support available to members of Girlguiding Sefton

The Jean Clayton Fund

The fund is to be used to help any Brownies in need of financial assistance in order to attend a pack holiday or camp with no restriction to being UK based. The amount paid will be at the discretion of the Finance Committee after consideration of the circumstances.

The Gwen Clayton Fund

The fund is to be used to help any Guide or Ranger member in need of financial assistance in order to attend a camp or holiday with no restriction to being UK based. The amount paid will be at the discretion of the Finance Committee after consideration of the circumstances.

The Thelma Gott Award

Any person registered with the County Queens Guide Coordinator as participating in the Queens Guide Award Scheme may apply to the County for a grant towards costs of their Outdoor Challenge. A request must be made in writing/email to the County Chair of Finance and identifying details how the grant will be used. The request will be considered by the County Finance Committee and the amount of the grant advised

County Grant towards the Queens Guide Residential clause

Girlguiding Sefton will pay 50% of the cost up to a maximum of £150 subject to prior approval by the Queens Guide Coordinator. A Girlguiding member who participates in the team may also qualify for a similar grant.

The Margaret Pilkington Bursary

The fund is to be used for outdoor activities, qualification and training. Queens Guide Award Scheme participants may apply for a grant towards costs of their Outdoor Challenge. A request must be made in writing/email to the County Chair of Finance and identifying details how the grant will be used. The request will be considered by the County Finance Committee and the amount of the grant advised.

To submit a request for funding

For girls, the leader should make the request on behalf of the girl and the amount paid will be at the discretion of the Finance Committee after consideration of the circumstances and will be paid to the unit.

For Queens Guide participants and adult members, the request should be made by the individual themselves and the amount paid will be at the discretion of the Finance Committee after consideration of the circumstances and will be paid to the unit.

Funding for members with a disability

This grant supports members with disabilities and their supporting peers, and helps to cover assistance, transport, training and the development of an accessible programme.

Marshall Trust Fund

This grant is available from Region and can be used towards the cost of purchasing uniform for any section/member. The grant can be applied for on behalf of an individual or a unit. Grants from the Marshall Trust will not be given in retrospect.

Leslie & Peter Sell Charitable Trust

To help Scout and Guide groups to widen engagement and involvement in the movement.
