Get Wet Challenge

NW Region Water Team are celebrating the centenary by way of a Get Wet Challenge!

The aim of the challenge is to increase the numbers of children and adults participating safely in water activities across our region. The Challenge will run from 1st January 2009 until 31st December 2010 – activities already completed may be back-dated to the start of 2009.

The Get Wet 100 Challenge is open to every member of Girlguiding UK who wishes to take part. Each participant must choose from the list of clauses to earn 100 points and gain their badge. Different clauses may be selected to earn a second badge. The Challenge may be adapted under certain circumstances to ensure that everyone can take part – please contact Alison for advice.

To declare completion of the Challenge and order your badge please email Alison Quinn

Scuba Dive and Snorkelling

The 11th Formby St Jeromes Guides had a Scuba Dive and snorkelling session with Southport Underwater Club. It was held at Pontins pool Ainsdale and cost £5 per Guide. We had a fantastic evening. I arranged the evening via the Secretary Keith Barnes who can be contacted on: 01704 873615. Numbers are limited to 8 for Scuba Dive. My group is attending over 2 weeks to allow everyone a go. The session lasts from 8pm to 9.30pm, minimum age is 10 years and the Guides must be able to swim 25 metres. Surprise yourself and give it a go!
